If you are having trouble receiving various administrative services because you are not listed in your family register, please contact the nearest Legal Affairs Bureau or the Family Register (Koseki/戸籍(こせき)) counter at city hall.

After explaining your situation at the consultation desk, the Legal Affairs Bureau or the Family Register staff at city hall will carefully guide you through the appropriate procedures required to fix your Family Register.
