Minamisoma Channel [南相馬チャンネル]

更新日:2021年01月14日

The Minamisoma Channel was established to convey information about the city’s recovery efforts to the people of Minamisoma after the disaster in 2011. Its first broadcast was tested on July 20, 2011, and after installing 17 transmitting stations (9 in Kashima and 8 in Haramachi) with the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, began its first official broadcast on February 21, 2013.

Then, in order to expand the signal range, 7 new stations were added starting March 1, 2014, creating a total of 24 transmitting stations (9 in Kashima, 14 in Haramachi, and 1 in Odaka).

About the Minamisoma Channel

The channel also broadcasts emergency information via video and data broadcasting.

The broadcast is a 60-minute program renewed once a week, while the data broadcast is updated as needed.
