Notification of Moving In

(Note) Notifications related to address changes cannot be accepted during extended hours. Please complete the procedure from 8:30am to 5:15pm on weekdays (excluding holidays).

 When moving into Minamisoma from another municipality within Japan.

Japanese Title: 転入届 (tenyu todoke)

The person moving, or a member of the same household currently in Minamisoma
(Note) If applying via a third party, paperwork for Power of Attorney is required.

Within 14 days of beginning your residence in Minamisoma
(Note) You cannot submit a notification of moving in based on future plans to move.

• Resident Transfer Notification (住民異動届, jumin ido todoke)
  You can receive this at the reception counters or at any of the form tables at city hall. Please fill in the necessary information.
• Certificate of moving out (転出証明書, tenshutsu shomeisho) received from previous place of residence (if moving from within Japan)
• ID of the notifier (e.g. passport, Japanese driver's license)
• (If you have it) A My Number Card or a Basic Resident Register Card
  (Note) You must present the cards of all household members that are moving.
• Residence Card (在留カード, zairyu kado) or Special Permanent Resident Certificate
  (Note) Required for all foreign nationals moving in.
• In the case of applying via a third party, Power of Attorney.

(Note) You may need to provide separate documents (工事完了引渡証明書/koji-kanryo hikiwatashi shomeisho or 検査済証/kensa-zumisho) if you are moving into a newly constructed building which city hall cannot confirm.

When moving into Minamisoma from another country.

Japanese Title: 転入届 (tenyu todoke)

  (Note) You must provide the passports of all members of the household moving. If you used an automated machine at the airport, please bring the ticket stub that shows your entry date.
• A copy of your family register and an attached slip of the family register (for Japanese nationals only)
  (Note) Those who have a registered address in Minamisoma City are not required to provide this.
• Residence Card (在留カード, zairyu kado) or Special Permanent Resident Certificate (for foreign nationals only)
  (Note) If your passport states that you will be issued a residence card at a later date, please bring your passport with you.
• Documents certifying relationship with the head of household (for foreign nationals only)
  (Note) You must provide documents (issued by a public institution such as the government of the home country, such as an original birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.) that can confirm the family relationship between the head of the household who is a foreign resident and the household members. For documents in foreign languages, please attach a Japanese translation.
• (If you have it) Health Insurance Card
• In the case of applying via a third party, Power of Attorney.
