While waiting for repairs, turn the valve within the meter box clockwise to shut off the water supply.
The valve may discharge some water when opening or closing it, but please continue to turn it completely to the open or closed position. (The discharge is to prevent freezing.)
Reduction or Exemption of Water Charges Due to Leak
If a leak occurs between the water meter and your faucets, there are some cases in which part of the water charges are reduced or voided based on the location of the leak. In order to qualify for a reduction or exemption, the leak must be in a spot that is difficult to discover normally, such as within a wall or underground. Leaks from places such as toilets, faucets, and water supply devices do not qualify.
If you would like to know if you qualify for a reduction or exemption, please contact the waterworks division, engineering section. (Tel: 0244-24-5272)
