*In this situation, a 3-year-old child is a child who enters school after their 3rd birthday. Only No. 1 certified children’s centers and preschools, childcare will be offered for free to children who officially enter school after turning 3 years old.
In addition, school lunch fees, educational material fees, event fees, bus transfer fees, extended childcare fees, PTA membership fees, etc., are not included in the childcare fees (they are at the expense of the parent or guardian).
About Temporary Custody and Childcare
For children ages 3 to 5 who have been certified as needing childcare, the kindergarten childcare fees will be free of charge. Childcare fees are charged for all other children aged 3 to 5.
Free childcare is available to children who are a full 3 years old or older as of April 1 (excluding residence tax exempt households who are certified as needing childcare for children who are a full 3 years old).

Unlicensed Childcare Facilities, Temporary Custody Business, and Family Support Business
Children ages 3 to 5 and children ages 0 to 2 in households exempt from resident tax and who need childcare are eligible for free childcare.
To qualify for free childcare, you need to be certified.
In addition, for children who use a temporary custody business or family support business and are not covered by the national grant, the user will continue to pay the childcare fees.

Free Early Childhood Education and Childcare in the City
Currently, the city is implementing free childcare for children ages 0 to 5 years.
Free childcare is provided on a national level to children ages 3 to 5, and 0 to 2-year-old children in households exempt from residence tax who need childcare, but the city will continue to provide free childcare for the 0 to 2-year-olds who are not qualified for the national free childcare.
About School Lunch Fees
As part of the city’s subsidy, up to 4500 yen per month will be provided for school lunch at private kindergartens, with the subsidy sent to the school.
The cost of school lunch ingredients at private preschools and certified children’s centers will be subsidized to lessen the expense.
School lunch at public kindergartens, preschools, and certified children’s centers will be provided for free.
About Unlicensed Childcare Facilities
Regarding those who live in the city and attend an unlicensed childcare facility in the city, the city will provide a subsidy for children from 0 years old to 5 years old who do not qualify for the national free childcare.
