General Prenatal Health Check-ups
Minamisoma subsidizes the costs of prenatal health check-ups.
When you receive the Mother and Child Health Handbook, you will receive 15 consultation slips.
There is no limit to the number of health check-ups that can be subsidized, so if you receive 16 or more, please fill out an application to get the medical fees for those check-ups subsidized.
What is a prenatal health check-up?
Prenatal health check-ups are performed so that we can protect the health of mothers and their babies while making sure their pregnancy is going well.
Even if you don’t have any particular concerns, you should have your baby checked at least at the following gestational periods to monitor the growth of the fetus and your own health (blood pressure, urine, etc.).
- Once every 4 weeks from the beginning of pregnancy to the 23rd week of pregnancy (end of 6 months)
- Once every two weeks from 24th to 35th week of pregnancy (7th to 9th month)
- After 36 weeks (10 months) of pregnancy, once a week until delivery
(NOTE) Appropriate medical examination periods vary from person to person. Follow your doctor's instructions on the best course in regards to examinations.
Who Can Apply
Pregnant women with a certificate of residence (Juumin-hyou/住民票) in Minamisoma.
