Beware of Scams Regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine

It has been confirmed that people have received calls requesting money by saying such things as “You are able to get the COVID-19 vaccine. We will refund the full amount at a later date, so please transfer the money,” as well as “You can get the vaccine for free,” while asking for private information.

The vaccination is free

The cost of inoculating the COVID-19 vaccine is free. Prefectures and cities will not make demands for money.

Prefectures and cities will not ask for personal information by phone or email

The city will send you a vaccination ticket (coupon ticket) and a pre-examination ticket, etc. for each individual. Prefectures and cities will not ask for personal information by phone or email.

When you receive a suspicious phone call or email

If you receive a suspicious call or email, immediately call 110 or the nearest police station.
