(10/22-12/11) So-So Area Residents’ Stories of Atomic Bombs
In 1983, a collection of stories entitled “I Will Also Testify: About Hiroshima and Nagasaki” was published, containing the stories of 20 So-So area residents and their nuclear disaster experiences, 38 years after the end of World War II. It is surprising to have so many nuclear disaster victims so far from Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Memories of the war are fading from today’s society, but the stories of the victims’ nuclear disaster experiences and post-disaster life convey the cruelty of atomic bombing and the futility of war.
