What is “Sedette?”
“Sedette” is a word in the Soma area dialect translating roughly to “come along,” chosen for this facility in the hopes that it would become a place people will want to visit again and again.
This name was chosen through a public appeal for name ideas. The one who submitted the name was Fushimi Shinichiro from Kashima Ward, Minamisoma.
Guide to the Facilities
Entrance Hall
Come face-to-face with the brave horseback warriors of Soma Nomaoi. (life-size replicas)
Monitors show videos of Soma Nomaoi, while photos, pictures, and cutouts adorn the walls.
Information is shared about Minamisoma, neighboring municipalities, and Fukushima Prefecture through pamphlets and other materials.
Souvenir Shop “Minamisoma Store”
Selling fresh local produce, candies, and articles of folk craft. You can also purchase souvenirs made in other parts of Fukushima Prefecture as well as neighboring prefectures.
Dining Hall “Haramachi”
Come enjoy a good meal in this space that gives off a feeling of warmth.
You can also eat outside on the deck.
A variety of meals are available for a reasonable price.
Community Space
A space where you can breathe a sigh of relief and heal from your exhaustion after a long drive. It is usually open to the public, so please feel free to use it. Please note that it may be used for meetings, etc., in which case we ask for your understanding.
There is also a breakroom set up for drivers.
Takeout Shops
Several local shops are lined up outside.
Restrooms
The restrooms are a clean area where you can relax.
- Men’s: 7 urinals, 3 stalls
- Women’s: 7 stalls, 2 multipurpose stalls
(Note) There are also restrooms available at the Minamisoma Kashima Service Area itself.
Ball Trampoline
Kids can relieve any energy they built up during the drive and for a change of pace.
Age limit: 3-12 years old
Please be careful not to drop any items into the play area.
Dog Run
An area where your beloved dog can have some unrestrained fun.
Wood chip layer on ground, with separate areas for small dogs and middle-sized/large dogs.
Smart Interchange (Smart IC)
The Smart IC can only be used by cars with an ETC card. Please be sure to insert your card into your on-board device. Please also be sure to come to a stop in front of the ETC gate when entering or exiting the expressway.
The Minamisoma Kashima Smart IC uses a double-gate system (to provide an exit route for the sake of safety).
The double-gate system detects cars equipped with an ETC card at the first gate.
If an ETC card is detected, the second gate opens, and the driver can continue.
If an ETC card is not detected, the second gate will not open, and you can return using the exit route.

Cost of Renting Facilities
The following facilities are available for borrowing. Please check for vacancy at Sedette Kashima beforehand.

- The cost for using the community space will be tripled if using it for commercial advertising, business purposes, etc.
- For space approved by the facility manager, it is assumed to mean selling goods from a tent outdoors or other similar activities.
- 1 section refers to an area covering 3.56m x 5.34m (2ken x 3ken tent size).
You will be charged the full amount even if you do not use the total area. - Each applicant can borrow up to 2 sections.
- There may be some cases in which the usage fee is partially or completely reduced, so please consult with the facility.
- Please submit your application to Sedette Kashima.

Usage Fee Reduction/Exemption
Exemption
- When used for an enterprise sponsored or jointly sponsored by a national, regional, or other public organization, or for a public project run by a public organization
- When a business or organization with a site within Minamisoma or an individual living within Minamisoma uses the facility for an event or enterprise deemed by the mayor to contribute to the purpose of the public facility
- When used by an individual or a group of which at least have the members are eligible for exemption/reduction
○Those who fulfill either of the following conditions are eligible for exemption/reduction
(1) Those who possess a physical disability certificate, medical rehabilitation handbook, or mental disability certificate
(2) Those caring for a person with a level 1 physical disability certificate, medical rehabilitation handbook, or mental disability certificate (up to one caretaker per certificate-holding person)
To Those Who Possess Disability Certificates
- If you are unable to produce your disability certificate, etc., at the time of use, you will not be able receive the exemption.
- Use for business purposes will not be exempted.
Fee Reduction
- When used for an event or enterprise deemed by the mayor to contribute to the purpose of the public facility
